9 Benn R. Konsynski, Ph. D., is the George S. Craft Distinguished University Professor of Information Systems and Operations Management at the Goizueta Business School, Emory University. He arrived at Emory’s Goizueta Business School following six years on the faculty at the Harvard Business School where he taught in the MBA program and several executive programs. Prior to arriving at HBS, he was a professor at the University of Arizona where he was a co-founder of the university’s multi-million dollar group decision support laboratory and gateway connection of early internet LANs to IMPs. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Purdue University and specializes in issues of digital commerce and information technology in relationships across organizations. He studies immersion technologies and virtual environments. Benn has published in diverse research journals and serves on boards and advisory roles in public and private organizations. Benn was named Baxter Research Fellow at Harvard and Hewlett Fellow at the Carter Center in Atlanta. He has been awarded a number of distinguished teaching awards, including a Great Teacher Lecture award at Emory University.
